Hello Thecla Green. I was a member of the boys choir from about 1946-1953 of the
St Willibrordus Kerk on the Amsteldijk.
I was in Amsterdam last year for the first time in 55 years but unfortunately the beautiful old church and the school I went to are now both gone to. But I was rewarded
when I made a visit to the St Bavo Cathedral
in Haarlem were the great Willibrordus Organ
was moved to and was also able to get a nice cd and booklet on the history of St Willibrordus organ etc. I have also been married for 45 years and have 4 chidren all married and 3 grandchildren . We went to Australia 14.2.1953 during the big floods in Zeeland at the time I also have 6 sisters and 2 brothers still living in Australia Mum and Dad have since died.
I remember visiting St Bonifatius Kerk as a young boy with my brothers and my Dad it was a very beautiful church I found some photos taken during the demolishing of the church on the website. There have been so many churches demolished now in Holland 30 alone in Amsterdam I hope they leave a few standing as I intend to visit Holland again next year. All the best to you and your family. Greetings from Australia. Eddy.
